You've probably heard of a flashed phone, but may not not know what that term means. A flashed phone is a phone that has been converted to work from one carrier to another. Therefore, their handsets are only built to transmit and receive at two frequiences and lack the third to operate properly in these Cricket Tri-band areas. Type in your zip code, and if any diagonal lines appear, you are in a Tri-band area. If so, you will need to purchase a smartphone designed originally for the Cricket network.
